Truffles
Our truffles, each individually hand-rolled and hand-dipped, are lovingly made with the finest ingredients which we select carefully at la maison de COCO. The cream we use comes from our exclusive supplier, a local, Rhode Island farm which practices sustainable farming, shuns growth hormones and nurtures their cows in a pesticide-free environment.
La maison de COCO works with a couverture made from Criollo and Trinitario cocoa beans from Madagascar, which impart our truffles with a fruitier zing. Even the tea infused in all our signature truffles is supplied by a company which imports the teas directly from Tea Estates in Africa, China, India and Japan and delivers them directly to their customers, thus assuring an equally fresh bouquet. The Xocoatl truffles are the only truffles offered which are not infused with tea; rather we have selected a special chili pepper and peppercorn potpourri to pay tribute to the origins of the chocolate drink, Xocoatl, found in the Mayan culture.
